Super Bowl Seating Contractor Denies Tampering Allegation

DALLAS, Texas (1080 KRLD) - The contractor at the center of a witness-tampering allegation in the Super Bowl XLV seating lawsuit talked with KRLD's Austin York Wednesday night, as the jury continues deliberating the case spawned by temporary seats at the then-Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

Attorneys for the fans embroiled in a lawsuit against the NFL have filed an emergency motion claiming the contractor, Scott Suprina - President of Seating Solutions, may have been coached on what to say during his video deposition that was played for the jury. The Plaintiffs say if that was the case there may have been witness tampering and grounds for a mistrial.

The motion claims, "Suprina alleges that the NFL successfully influenced his testimony through the promise of financial gain (aka witness tampering)."

The motion is based on an ESPN article that says he may have been coached by league executives during his video deposition to "stay in their favor."

Suprina tells KRLD the allegation is simply not true. He said he was, "never told to lie, never coached and never told to change my testimony," and further insisted that he "answered everything honestly."

Though Suprina has been blamed for the seating debacle, he says the seating problems were a result of winter weather. "I appreciate that Mr. Goodell (NFL Commissioner) is taking responsibility," he said. "I am in awe of the fact that his employees didn't get the memo."

The judge ruled jury deliberations could continue, but that plaintiffs can continue their investigation. If allegations are proven to be true witness tampering charges may be filed and a new trial ordered.
