DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Members of Dallas Fire-Rescue were called out to uptown Dallas after a worker was injured at a high-rise building construction site.

When first responders arrived at 2500 Alamo Street the worker was awake, alert and communicating with others. Since the building is under construction, and the worker was injured on top floor, getting the man to the ground proved challenging.

The Dallas Fire-Rescue Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) team had to use a ladder truck to lower the worker to safety. The man was loaded onto a basket, then onto the ladder and was lowered to ground level.

Rescuers did not indicate how the man was hurt or how serious his injuries are, but he was taken to a local hospital and is not believed to be in a life-threatening situation.

No one else at the site was hurt.
