GARLAND (CBS 11 NEWS) – Among the stories of destruction are the stories of comforting coincidence following the outbreak of tornadoes that tore through North Texas.
Such is the story of Montgomery "Marty" Rasch, and an area nurse by the name of Kelly Spatz.

"Marty" was one of the walking wounded after a twister ripped through his R-V park flipping his mobile home several times with him inside. He ended up at an area shelter. Spatz was a volunteer and triaged him.

When she realized his condition was going from bad to worse she immediately called for an ambulance and sent him to the first available hospital she could. She thought that was the last she would see of him.

Little did she know when she would report to work two days later at Methodist Richardson Medical Center "Marty" would be there. One her floor, under her care yet again.

"Marty" said, "Yes, she's a good lady. She helped me."

Spatz added, "I actually knocked on his door, and went in in his room and he says well hello stranger."

Spatz and her team worked to bring Marty back to health and he was released Monday night.

Raschh said, "if it wasn't for the good lord and a little bit of luck on my side," he wouldn't be alive.
