Comet Closest To Earth It's Been In 24 Years
Comet Haley Two will be the closest it's been to earth in 24 years. Just a mere 11 million miles away, this cosmic ball of ice and rock will be much closer to earth than the earth is to the sun. Rebecca Johnson of the McDonalds Observatory says the light will be dim, so you'll have to use your binoculars. This pass is actually a preview to another flyby in 2 weeks when NASA's probe will come within 435 miles of the comet.
