Colony Residents Brace For Rains Days After Tornado Hit

THE COLONY (CBSDFW.COM) - Residents in the Colony are bracing for more rain, just days after a EF-0 tornado hit.
Many people suffered significant damage; roofs torn up, fences knocked down, sheds blown to bits, while some homes were largely untouched.
One woman said she's lucky to have survived.
"We had a 2x4 come directly through a window into my bedroom. So that was scary. To have debris come directly into my bedroom."
Her fence posts were ripped from the ground and tossed through the air like tooth picks.
But the tornado brought the community together, a positive in a sea of negative outcomes from Tuesday's storms.
"The ones on the end of the street with less damage were coming up, helping with the debris, cleaning up. So we are bonding together as neighbors to get through this together."
Another homeowner said the 60-70 mph winds on Monday, did a number on his backyard.
"Out whole fence is destroyed. Part of the roof, tiles ripped off. I really feel sorry for our neighbors, they have had to move out."
The Red Cross was on the scene, making arrangements for housing for at least several families, affected. No severe injuries were reported.
