Colombo is back!
Just left the locker room and Marc Colombo spent a good ten minutes talking to the media today. Columbo said his knee feels great, no swelling and he "just wants to get back in there." Columbo went on to say, "This is a really big game for me because Chicago is where I started my career."
The Bears took Columbo in the first round of the 2002 draft and then he dislocated his left patella and suffered femoral nerve damage in the knee in November of that season. He then missed the entire 2003 season while rehabbing his knee. That rehab lasted into the 2004 season as well as he was finally activated in November of 2004. The Bears thought his tank was empty and ended up waiving him in September of 2005. "That two year rehab...all indications were that my career was over as I was given a 5% chance of playing again."
It has been a long long road for Columbo since those days in Chicago. The perfect time for him to come back and hopefully turn things around for Dallas.
