Judge Suspended Days After Indictment
A Collin County judge has been suspended by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct. State District Judge Suzanne Wooten was recently indicted on bribery charges and her lawyer says he's not surprised to hear about the suspension eventhough her attorney, Peter Schulte, wrote to the Commission to say the charges against his client are "...completely false and baseless." Wooten was indicted last week along with three others who are accused of working together in a bribery scheme. It involved receiving campaign contributions in return for favorable judicial rulings from Wooten. Wooten denies any of that happened. Her backers say the indictment is nothing but a political vendetta orchestrated by Collin County District Attorney John Roach. Roach has been feuding with Wooten from the time she was elected in 2008.
