Cleanup Begins Following Texas Tornadoes
BEN WHEELER (CBSDFW.COM) - Hundreds of people are trying to recover from a tornado that swept through a large swath of Van Zandt County yesterday.
"The whole house was vibrating" says James Hoskins who survived the tornado in his kitchen with his wife. The tornado destroyed their garage, horse barn and backyard arena. The tornado caused only minor damage to their home.
A few miles away, just south of the town of Ben Wheeler, 75-year-old Thelma Barker was injured when her mobile home collapsed around her. Relatives say she was trapped and used her cell phone to get help. Barker is in the hospital in Terrell and listed in stable condition.
Authorities estimate more than 100 homes were damaged by yesterday's tornado, three were destroyed, one person was injured and there were no fatalities.
