Cirque Du Soleil Headlines DFW Weekend Events
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - First up -- and the best ticket in town this weekend for my money! -- is our CBS 11 Day at the DMA. You cannot beat the price -- free! "Quidam" is back! The popular Cirque du Soleil show debuted 16 years ago and has been traveling ever since to sold out crowds around the world. It last played North Texas in 1998 and will continue it's run at the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco through this Sunday. Over 100 cast and crew from 22 different countries travel with the spectacular, along with over 2,500 costumes and 50 wigs! The story surrounds the journey of a young girl, and is as magical as any of the other 21 Cirque shows currently performing both domestically and internationally.
Next up, don't miss the opportunity to see world class dance in all its forms as TITAS brings Command Performance to the AT&T Performing Arts Center's Winspear Opera House, Friday for one night only. The performance begins at 8:00 p.m. and has been in the works for months and months, as award-winning dancers from around the world converge on our local stage to highlight some innovative and classicly choreographed masterpieces -- some of which will be performed for the very first time here in Dallas.
Lastly, do not miss "Million Dollar Quartet" at the Music Hall at Fair Park through next Sunday, March 18. It's a 90-minute chow depicting the one day music history was made in the famed Sun Records studio in Memphis. Carl Perkins, Elvis, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis had no idea then that the fateful jam session would go down as one of the most memorable sessions ever in rock and roll. The best part about the show? The brother of Denton native KRLD's Chief Meteorologist Krista Viallarreal stars in the show, and was on Broadway with it as well!
