Christmas Tree Arrives In Sundance Square

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – In case you're counting down, there are 40 days left until Christmas, and in Fort Worth's Sundance Square, the official start of the holiday season has arrived.
Crews have hoisted the annual Christmas tree.
This year's tree is a 57-foot tall Blue Spruce from Michigan. It was cut down on Friday and brought to Fort Worth on a flat bed truck before being uprighted in the middle of Sundance Square.
The next step is to make the tree show-ready for Saturday's tree lighting at 6:00 p.m.
Record high temperatures have made it feel more like spring than the holidays in North Texas, but that's not stopping people downtown from enjoying the holiday cheer.
"I think the tree would be happier if the temperature would drop, said Tracy Gilmour, the Sundance Square Marketing Director. Hopefully that will happen by the weekend."
