Christmas Stolen From Fort Worth Family

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Seikeksha Hardgraves was pleased that she had finished all of her Christmas shopping.  She has four girls and this had been a good year, after some challenging times in her life.  But last night when Hardgraves returned home with her four children from dance classes, they discovered someone had been inside their Fort Worth apartment and stolen all of their Christmas presents.

"I don't care about me.  It's not that I necessarily care about the stuff" Hardgraves says.  "It was the principle and how it affected my kids that hurt the most."

Hardgraves says the thieves took dozens of gifts that were wrapped and underneath the family Christmas tree: An mp3 player, a hand-held video game player, shoes, toys and clothes.

"My kids come in first and they start yelling, where's the laptop?  Where's the TV? And I immediately told them get out of here, get out now and I had my kids run out of this apartment and I locked them in my car," says Hardgraves.

The family was at dance lessons and returned about 9:30 Thursday night.  The front door of the apartment was locked but once they entered Hardgraves says she noticed the sliding glass door was open about two inches and the screen door had been removed.

Hardgraves says she's not mad.  She's hurt.

"As a parent when you work so hard to provide and you know you really don't have it, but you're able to accomplish it, it just hurts that in no time at all, two and a half hours, you come in and it's all gone.

Fort Worth Police says they are investigating the burglary.  They canvassed the apartment complex on the 6100 Block of Portico and found no witnesses so far.
