Christmas Specials On TXA 21 This December

Last week I mentioned to you the various Christmas specials CBS11 has coming this month. But our sister station, TXA21, is no stranger to airing Christmas specials either….and here's our schedule!

Sunday, Dec. 9
(7:00-9:00PM) 5th ANNUAL WOMEN THAT SOAR AWARDS SHOW—This locally produced special host by Joey Fatone (Dancing with The Stars), pays tribute to those women from diverse backgrounds and communities together to honor and profile their personal stories and journey to success. Taped November 10th at the Dallas Fair Park Music Hall.

Monday, Dec. 10 and Tuesday, December 25th (encore)
(7:00-8:00PM and 6:30pm-7:30pm) THE LANDRY AWARDS---This annual live event, hosted by CBS 11 Sports Director Babe Laufenberg, pays honor and tribute to those high school football players voted as the best of the best in the Dallas Fort Worth area. The honor recognizes the 2012 High School Football Player of the Year from our area.

(1:30-2pm) CNET'S TOP TEN HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE---CNET gets us ready for the holiday season by counting down the top ten tech products in CNET'S TOP TEN HOLIDAY TECH GIFTS,  In the special viewers will learn from the experts about other must-haves such as accessories and gifts for kids. The show will appeal to bona fide techies and newbie tech fans of all ages.  Hosting are CNET's Executive Editor Molly Wood and Senior Editor Donald Bell.(rebroadcast).

Saturday, Dec.22 and Sunday, Dec.23  (3:00-5:00PM and 4:00-6:00pm)SONY WEEKLY MOVIE: BUSTER AND CHAUNCEY'S SILENT NIGHT/NUTTIEST NUTCRACKER: TWO 1-HOUR MOVIES- Buster and Chauncey the world's greatest Mouse-icians have arrived in Oberndorf for their shot at the big time: performing for the Queen at the annual Christmas pageant! But on Christmas Eve, Burghermeister Huffenmeir finds all the preparations for the festivities destroyed and the treasure of Oberndorf missing. When he accuses Buster and Chauncey's friend Christina, an orphan in search of her long lost family, it seems certain that Christmas will be ruined. Now it's up to the Mice-traeos of Mistletoe to help Christina reveal the real culprits, return the treasure and show the town of Oberndorf the true meaning of Christmas not with a big pageant, but with a little song and a lot of love!

When a young teen, Marie, falls asleep awaiting the return of her parents, she enters the magical world of her Nutcracker Prince, a gift from her uncle. Together with a zany band of mixed nuts (headed by Cheech Marin) and a Sugar Plum Fairy (Phyllis Diller), Marie helps her Nutcracker Prince reclaim his Kingdom from Reginald, the evil Mouse King (Jim Belushi)! Featuring classic musical selections from "The Nutcracker Suite" as well as two original songs performed by Grammy®-winner Peabo Bryson, THE NUTTIEST NUTCRACKER is one wild ride for the entire family all with a nutty twist!

Sunday, Dec.16 (1:00pm-2:00pm)2012 STELLAR GOSPEL AWARDS TRIBUTE TO THE HOLIDAYS--This embraces the best of Stellar's greatest performances. Grammy Award winning artists come together with their unique musical talents to deliver uplifting performances of praise and inspiration over the holiday season. This one-hour Gospel Music Holiday Special celebrating the holiday season may air on Thanksgiving or Christmas as well as Prime or weekend airings. Hosted by Donnie McClurkin.

Sunday, Dec. 16 (2:00-3:00pm) GOSPEL SUPERFEST HOLIDAY SPECIAL--- Presented by AllState Insurance, this special features some of the country's top Gospel performers such as Wendy Raquel Robinson and the Chicago Mass Choir.

Sunday, Dec. 16 (3:00-4:00pm)A HOLLYWOOD CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION--- "A Hollywood Christmas Celebration" is a one-hour, magical special with some of the biggest names in music, television, and motion pictures, along with thousand of Christmas lights, snow, and of course, the man of the hour, Santa Claus! The celebration will take place at The Grove, the ultimate entertainment destination in Los Angeles. At the crowning moment of the holiday special, The Grove will bring to life more than 15,000 lights that adorn the towering 100-foot Christmas tree as fireworks fill the sky.

Monday, Dec. 24 (7:30pm-8:30pm)PARADE OF LIGHTS (rebroadcast)—CBS11's Brendan Higgins and Adrienne Bankert host the annual Fort Worth Parade of Lights and the lighting of the Christmas Tree from downtown Fort Worth. CBS11's Jeff Jamison co-hosts as the street side reporter. Original air date; 11/23/12, 7:30pm.
