COLLIN COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) — Sunday marked one year since 23-year-old Christina Morris disappeared from The Shops at Legacy in Plano.

The Fort Worth woman was last spotted on surveillance video in the early morning hours walking towards her car in a parking garage.

"When she entered the garage, it's like she entered hell," Jonni McElroy, Morris' mother, said.

In the past year, McElroy said the pain of not knowing where her daughter is has intensified by the day. But she said she is more determined than ever to find her.

"I'm not going to stop searching," she said. "Why would I? There's no reason. The only reason is when I find her or have an answer."

McElroy abandoned her life in Tulsa and recently moved into an apartment in Plano, so she can devote her full time to the search effort. Every Saturday, friends, family members and volunteers join McElroy in searching for her daughter on foot.

Anna Morris, who also raised Christina as her daughter, said in the past year, "nothing has changed for us, because we don't have Christina. She hasn't come home."

Both women said they believe the one person who holds the key to their daughter's whereabouts is 25-year-old Enrique Arochi. Arochi is charged with aggravated kidnapping in connection to Morris' disappearance. Now in jail, Arochi is set to appear in court on Nov. 30.

Every week, during visitation hours, Morris' family members stand outside the jail hoping his parents will hear their pleas for Arochi to talk.

"It is my hope that he will finally say something," McElroy said.

McElroy and Anna Morris both said they are "realistic" and understand the odds are not in their favor in finding their daughter alive.

However, they said hope remains on their side.

"If anyone can survive this for a year — who has the strength and the pure will — it's Christina," Anna Morris said.
