Showers and storms expected for North Texas
NORTH TEXAS – A big change is in North Texas' forecast starting Wednesday.
A southerly flow Tuesday evening will pump up the moisture content across North Texas. This will eventually lead to a soggy start to Wednesday. Scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder will be expected for the morning commute into the early afternoon. By the evening, activity will shift to the east and dryer air will filter into the area.
The cloud cover will keep the morning temperatures warmer than average and afternoon highs cooler than average on Wednesday.
Thursday the moisture content diminishes. Sunshine and cooler temperatures in the mid-50s are expected. However, late Thursday into Friday another front will move through bringing additional changes.
There is currently a lot of uncertainty with the forecast as the weekend moves closer and closer.
The longer-range models are not in consensus, meaning the forecast is a bit difficult when looking at precipitation potential. For example, the GFS model shows heavy rain while the European model shows clear skies. As of now, the First Alert Weather team is forecasting some rainfall across North Texas.
