Child's Love For Disney Movie Plays Major Role In Cancer Recovery

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A Fort Worth family says their 2-year old's love for the Disney movie Frozen played a major role in her recovery.
It was last December that 2-year old Kennedy Coke was diagnosed with a rare form of pediatric cancer called Plural Pulmonary Blastoma.
The cancer was discovered after doctors removed a mass in her lung.
Kennedy's mother Jodi Coke said, "The doctor said preliminarily it's looking like it's going to be that Plueropulmonary Blastoma", about the moment doctors broke the news to her.
While doctors worked to save little Kennedy with chemotherapy the 2-year old fell in love with the Disney movie Frozen and the main character Princess Elsa.
Kennedy soon began to emulate Elsa and it wasn't long before she convinced herself that she was the real life Princess.
That distraction according to her father, helped with her recovery.
Wes Coke said , "As far as I am concerned it got her through."
Kennedy has been given a clean bill of health according to her family.
She recently just had a port removed.
Frozen's theme song let it go is Kennedy's favorite song, and the meaning behind it has become an anthem for the entire family as they beat cancer together.
Jodi Coke added, "Let it go...it certainly puts everything into perspective."
