Child Killed After Pedestrian Accident
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are looking for a driver involved in a fatal pedestrian accident that resulted in the death of a seven-old-girl Saturday night.
Dallas Police Department spokesman Melinda Gutierrez said a driver in a Dodge Durango hit the girl while she was walking across the 2700 block of West Northwest Highway with a family member. The driver then left the scene.
The victim was then hit by second vehicle. The driver of that vehicle did remain at the site of the accident.
The victim was transported to Children's Medical Center but was pronounced dead. She has since been identified as Devora Lopez.
Police say the Dodge Durango that initially hit Lopez should have damage on the front left headlight.
