Chemical Explosion Injures One

Two chemical incidents at the same Richardson company hours apart.
The two incidents happened at a company called Cleanpart, which, as the name implies, cleans components to machinery.  Richardson Fire Battalion Chief Ron Kunz says the nitric acid used in the cleaning process reacted with something in one of those parts.  The part reacted with the nitric acid and the vat exploded.  The force of the explosion blew a protective face mask off one worker whose face was splashed with acid and seriously burned.  Kunz says the company appears to have a good safety record.
