Chapman Returns From 1st Champions Tour Win
BIRMINGHAM, AL (AP) - Roger Chapman is a 53-year-old trying to prove he's not "a one-hit wonder.''
The Englishman who won the Senior PGA for his first Champions Tour victory aims for a nice follow-up at the year's second major. Chapman says there is a little more pressure on him when the $2.2 million Regions Tradition starts Thursday at Shoal Creek.
He says, "It's going to be interesting how I handle it.'' Chapman beat John Cook by two strokes but had the pressure mostly off after leading by nine through seven holes on the final day at Harbor Shores in Michigan.
Chapman plays on the European Senior Tour and his biggest highlight previously was a European Tour win in Brazil 12 years ago.
Tom Lehman is the defending Regions Tradition champion.
