Cats Impaled On Metal Fence, Suspect On The Loose
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are searching for the person responsible for impaling two cats by their hind legs on a metal fence in west Oak Cliff.
It happened shortly before 3 a.m. on Friday, June 27. Dallas police received a call from someone who said a man had impaled two cats on the 6-foot fence around an apartment complex. Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived to the location in the 2900 block of Remond Drive, near North Westmoreland Road, to remove the top portion of the fence and free the severely injured cats.
While police were freeing the cats from the fence, one cat ran off before Dallas Fire Rescue personnel could place it in a container. Dallas Animal Services had to euthanize the other cat because of its injuries, police said.
The Dallas Police Department is seeking the suspect responsible for this offense of Animal Cruelty. The suspect is described as a Latin male between the ages of 25 to 35. He was seen fleeing the location in a white four-door Honda Accord. Anyone with information about this vicious case of Animal Cruelty is asked to call Detective Ira Carter at 214-671-0633.
