GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) -A reckless driver led Grand Prairie police on a high speed chase before pushing his car through a gate and onto a plaza at the Lone Star Park Sunday afternoon.
"It scared me to death," said Shannon Hall who was with her four children at the horse track when the car came crashing through the gate.
"People were just running," she explained. "We didn't know whether to stay inside or go outside.
Hall said the suspect's car being chased by police came within feet of her five-year-old daughter, Breeland, who was sitting under the family's tent on the lawn at the race track.
After driving onto the grand stands plaza, the suspect jumped out of his car and tried to run away.
Officers quickly boxed him in and took him into custody.

No one inside the venue was injured.
The pursuit started on Main St. in East Grand Prairie around 1:00pm after other drivers called 911 to report the suspect's erratic driving.
Five-year-old Breeland Hall said she believes the man is sorry for what he did but added, "You still have to go to jail."
