Bush Tollway Connection To Intersate 30 Open For Traffic
GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - Ten miles of new concrete is ready for use. The North Texas Tollway Authority opened a new segment of the President George Bush Turnpike in Garland Wednesday, connecting the tollway to Interstate 30.
Construction took more than 3 years at a cost of $958 Million.
The new section means a driver can get off I-30 and get to DFW Airport without stoplights or going through 'the canyon' near downtown Dallas. Drivers can now take the Bush Turnpike from I-30 all the way to DFW Airport.

For much of the construction workers had streets blocked and rerouted traffic as they built the last stretch of the turnpike that runs from Highway 78 to the interstate.
The new section cuts through Garland, Rowlett and Sachse.
