Bush Hosts Golf Tournament For Injured Military

IRVING (AP) - Former President George W. Bush has kicked off a golf tournament for wounded members of the U.S. military.

Bush said Monday morning that the two-day Warrior Open being held in the Dallas suburb of Irving is not only a chance to witness good golf, but also "a celebration of patriotism, courage and sacrifice."

Twenty-two military members wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan are participating in the golf tournament hosted by Bush.

The tournament is part of the George W. Bush Institute's Military Service Initiative. The policy institute is part of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, which is set to open in the spring and will include Bush's presidential library and museum.

Bush and former first lady Laura Bush moved to Dallas when he left office in 2009.
