FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – The southbound ramp to Texas state Highway 360 has buckled; causing traffic delays.

The ramp is accessible from both the south exit Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport's Spur 97 and the westbound state Highway 183 access road.

The hazardous road condition isn't a surprise for some drivers.

"It's been buckling like that for a few days," according to one motorist. "It's been like that since the rain hit."

But repair crews with the Midtown Express Project said it's too soon to tell what may have caused the problem and forced the pavement to rise 6 inches causing the buckle.

Chopper 11 was over the scene as crews assessed the problem and began repairs.

"I would definitely love for them to hurry up and get that fixed," one motorist told CBS 11 News. "If it's not fixed soon people can't get to work. It's already hard in the morning coming through with traffic sometimes it could be backed up when nothing is wrong."

Crews said their goal is to fix the buckled road by sometime on Friday.
