Bridges Starting To Open Up Along LBJ Express Project
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A bright spot for drivers who make the commute along I-635, a bridge that is part of the LBJ Express Project is reopening Wednesday. The LBJ Express Project is a 17-mile undertaking, and well on its way, but still has a few more years to go.
Wednesday's opening of the Rosser Road bridge will help with both drivers and pedestrians. "It will be open to pedestrian traffic on August 27, which is the first day of the school year," explains Addi Cosgrove with the LBJ Express Project.
Contractors say the Joe Ratcliff Pedestrian Walkway will also be open about the project before school starts.
As crews finish with these two projects, they can move their attention to the Preston Road and Marsh Lane bridges. "Marsh Lane we have already finished that first half and there is already traffic on it and now we are in the process of constructing the other half," says Cosgrove.
The best advice, Cosgrove says, is to stay ahead of the traffic delays by getting email and text alerts from the project.
"Every Wednesday we'll send out a construction advisory letting you know hey we are going to be doing this on these nights or on the weekend we try not to send out too many but we want to give them the best information possible to make their commute."
