Border Security Bill Means More Border Agents
A 600 million dollar border security funding bill is signed by the President and will mean more assets coming to the Texas/Mexico border, although details are still hard to come by. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says despite some rhetoric there are a lot of resources already on the border. "This administration quite frankly has put more resources in the Southwest border in all of those categories than has every been put there before in United States history." Napolitano says this bill will mean more customs agents and one thousand new border patrol agents. That's still short of the three thousand that Governor Perry wants for the Texas/Mexico border alone. Napolitano says she hasn't read the Governor's letter that was hand delivered to the President earlier this week addressing his border security concerns.
