Bomb Threat Investigation At A&M's Kyle Field
COLLEGE STATION (AP) — Texas A&M University is investigating a bomb threat at Kyle Field that prompted the school to issue a "code maroon" safety advisory and close the stadium and nearby buildings.
A statement Wednesday afternoon from the school in College Station says law enforcement personnel are working to clear the football stadium but the facility and adjacent buildings that were evacuated will remain closed the rest of the day.
The university says all activities and events at facilities that haven't been evacuated will go on as scheduled.
A&M says the threat was written on a wall of a nonacademic campus facility and officials were told of it at 10:50 a.m. The initial "code maroon" was issued at 12:25 p.m.
Kyle Field seats nearly 83,000.
