Blue Mound Awaits Lab Report On Drinking Water
BLUE MOUND (CBSDFW.COM) - Residents will need to continue to boil their water while the city awaits lab results on samples from a recently repaired water well.
Southwest Water Company Communications Manager Janice Hayes said results have been sent and should be back by Friday.
"Repairs to the damaged well are now complete. Water samples have been submitted to an independent lab for analysis," said Hayes.
Blue Mound remains under a boil ban until then. Residents must boil their water. Hays said people should boil water for at least two minutes before using it.
Mayor Alan Hooks says the ban has had a negative effect on business in the city.
"All my restaurants in this area have been closed until the order has been released," said Hooks.
Meanwhile, stage four drought restrictions are also in effect. Outdoor watering is not allowed.
