Big Rig Pot Growing Operation Busted

JOHNSON COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - Sheriff's deputies busted a marijuana grow operation that used a converted 18-wheeler to house its plants. They found 31 marijuana plants growing under artificial light inside the big rig.

It was parked at a home on 824 County Road 1105 just outside of the Rio Vista City limits.

A month long investigation led narcotics agents to the location. The trailer was well hidden behind a shed in a grove of trees and was covered with camouflaged tarps, according to the police report. It wasn't visible from any angle and was accessed by way of a concealed door beside the shed.

Additional quantities of harvested and processed marijuana were found in a trailer house on the property.

Owners of the property, Terry King, 58, and his wife, Lagay Sullivan King, 47, face state jail felony charges of possession of 5 lbs or less of marijuana.

Trinity Scott Alexander, 27, was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 oz, which is a class B misdemeanor.
