If you love photography, the Half Day Group Photo Safari at the Dallas Zoo is the event for you. Spend half the day in a small group - limited to 15 people - getting up close and personal with your camera. Zoo staff photographers will lead the group, offer tips and help you get in the right places. These events are held before the zoo opens and early in the morning when the animals are most active. Private safaris and overnight safaris are also available.

The Ocean Front exhibit at the Museum of Living Art, which is part of the Fort Worth Zoo, is a permanent exhibit and has some of the rarest crocodiles in the world. The gharial crocodile is from Australia and is one of the most endangered species in the world. This large reptile is recognizable by its extra long snout. Also in this area is a giant saltwater crocodile, which can be seen in the exhibit area as well as from the food court. The exhibit is also known for its realistic looking habitat for the crocodiles.

At Wonders of the Wild, you can see exotic animals do amazing things. Cranes, hawks, owls and eagles fly just over your head. Watch a bird grab a grape out of the air. There are rodents of amazing size, as well as penguins in on the act. Wonders of the Wild is an hour-long show, and times vary through the summer. There is no extra charge for this exhibit that is part of the general admission.

The Orinoco is a multi level exhibit featuring many of the animals of the South American rain forest along the Amazon River. Exotic birds of many colors, monkeys of various kinds and a rodent that lives for 20 years in the wild are just a few of the animals you may see here. Also, see stingrays that are common in the waters of South America.

Experience the wildlife from half a world away by exploring this Australian exhibit. There is a good mix of aquatic life and land animals in this exhibit that recreates the wilderness areas of Australia. Watch red kangaroos, as well as a myriad of birds and other wildlife. There are also three large saltwater fish tanks that show the wildlife around the Great Barrier Reef.
