Avant-garde contemporary Japanese fashion featuring the Mary Baskett Collection is the newest exhibition at the Crow Collection of Asian Art. During the Japanese fashion revolution of the 1980s, designers Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo pushed the boundaries of tradition Japanese fashion. Unique spins on the kimono with colors, fabrics and unconventional construction redefine the Japanese apparel industry. Current art dealer and former curator of the Cincinnati Art Museum Mary Baskett wears these iconic pieces which do not conform to the design norms of Western cultures and has decided to share them with North Texas in this unique exhibit.

JD Miller's paintings are considered pure energy. They refresh the mind and soothe the soul with their colorful flowing strokes. Miller's newest series, "Luminous Levitation," brings this energy in large scale with nine-feet-tall 3D oil paintings on Plexiglas. This new media is a departure from the canvas traditionally used by Miller. Completely off the wall, Miller continues to expand the mind of the viewer with these sculptures that not only allow one a 360-degree view the art but shows the illuminated from within.
