Best Wineries Near DFW

Wineries are relatively new in the Dallas area, but there are a lot of them. Boutique wineries, often run by individuals or families, are springing up and offer a wide variety of wine experiences. There are also "trails" or tours you can take to see several in a day. They are much more than just a wine-making place, with interesting events and experiences to be had with each visit. Here are just a few.

The Sunset  Winery bills itself as "The Best Little Winery in Texas," and in addition to wine, they believe in having fun. The facility looks like a normal brick house, but inside there is a winery that produces award-winning wines. The dining room offers specials, such as an Argentine Dinner. You may also get a custom label for your wine bottle, which can be any photo you would like to have on a label.

Wine and romance go together, and this a great place for both. The boutique winery is on in the country, where trails wind through vineyards and huge oak trees. There are picnic tables spread strategically throughout, where you can enjoy one of their signature red wines. They have special events like movie night, live music and bingo to go along with the tours and wine tasting.

Two Corks And A Bottle

You don't have to go out in the country to find boutique wine. Here is one that is in the uptown area. They don't grow their own grapes — instead, they import them from around the world so you can get a wine from grapes from anywhere. The unique thing here is you can "make" your own wine. Pick out the type of wine you want, the grapes and watch it get put away. Six weeks later, return for the wine you made. You can even give it your own name. You may also "adopt" a wine in progress and call it your own.
