Robert Jessup's "New Paintings 2013-2014" and Chris Larson's "Heavy Rotation" open the art season at Conduit Gallery. Jessup, a painting professor at the University of North Texas, is known for pushing the boundaries of art by creating wildly colorful abstracts and tightly painted narratives. In the Project Space of Conduit Gallery, Larson's 15-minute video "Heavy Rotation" will be shown and depicts the Minnesota-based artist in his element.

This is the year for The Dallas Museum of Art. The DMA is the exclusive world and USA venue for several exhibits this year. The Dallas Museum of Art is the world exclusive venue for two exhibits "Between Action and the Unknown: The Art of Kazuo Shiraga and Sadamasa Motonaga" from February 8 through July 19, 2015 and "Frank Bowling: Map Paintings" from February 20 through August 2, 2015.
"Between Action and the Unknown: The Art of Kazuo Shiraga and Sadamasa Motonaga" in the Hoffman Galleries examines the artistic careers of these two artists from their early works to their nearly two-decade-long engagement with the Gutai Art Association of postwar Japanese artists and their later works in the late 1900s and early 2000s. This extensive exhibit includes items that have never been exhibited in the United States. The DMA with the Japan Foundation in Tokyo organized the exhibit that spans over 60 years of Shiraga's and Motonaga's work.
"Frank Bowling: Map Paintings" in the Barrel Vault quad explores the Guyanese-born British painter's contributions in abstract art. In his advocacy of black artists internationally, he used maps as tools to explore color. Bowling's work is vibrant. This is the first time in 45 years that these "Map Paintings" will be shown together since their debut at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1971. This event marks the DMA's acquisition of its first painting of Bowling - "Marcia H Travels" (1970).

"A continuum, Idle Voids: POP!" is an exhibit of reverse engineered common devices and objects. Irby Pace's photographic pieces have been featured in "Ripley's Believe It or Not" and several local and national publications. One can spend hours in deep study looking at his photographs. An opening reception is planned for March 28.

Ryder Richards is known for looking at life and turning it completely inside out and creating ideas through art that challenge those that to participate in viewing to look at themselves and their relationship to the world differently. This solo exhibition by Ryder Richards is called "The Idyllist." This hybrid of information in the digital age and science fiction transforms the participant of the exhibit into a world where they can be documented, their image projected and stripped of the identity markers, making them into a universal object. "Self" is simplified and the participant is introduced to an idea of communality of universal wholeness.

The "Horizon" exhibit pays homage to landscapes of the world. Artists Dawn Waters Baker, Dennis Blagg, Carolyn Caldwell, Ernst Gruler, Leslie Lanzotti Solomon and Mary Tomás will display their interpretation of landscapes. The opening reception is planned for 6 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday April 4, 2015.
