The Creative Arts Center offers classes for beginners as well as for advanced students. Day, evening and weekend classes are also available. Class sessions are eight weeks in length. Your first time taking classes is no problem. When you register for the course, Creative Arts Center will give you a list of supplies that you will need and ASEL Art Supply has pre-made kits with the items you need for class.

The class series features three-hour class sessions where you will learn a variety of techniques using charcoal, pastels or the materials of your choice. You will learn the basic principles of drawing, including composition, perspective and shape. The one-day workshop explores drawing in charcoal. You will learn how to draw from life in black in white.

Open to all skill levels, The Modern offers a free drawing class for adults every month through the museum's Drawing From the Collection program. You don't need to register in advance but you should sign in at the information desk when you arrive. All you need to bring is a sketchbook, pencils and your imagination.

They are $20 a class ($25 for the model classes) and new students can enroll anytime. Students will learn how to draw still life. During June and July, there are clothed models and animals are drawn in August. Simple supplies are an 11x14 or larger drawing tablet, a Pink Pearl eraser and a charcoal pencil for the class.
