Best Public Pools In DFW
Summer is a great time to hit the water, and with the intense heat of a Texas summer day it is even a better idea. While many people would love to hit a lake or float a river in one of the beautiful Texas state parks, sometimes a trip to a public pool is just as good. With the size of the Dallas and Fort Worth area, there are plenty of options, but here are some of the best public pools to choose from in the DFW area.

While it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the major DFW public pools, the FOE pool has a basic swimming pool, which is really what counts on a hot summer day. This won't have the slides and accessories that kids look for, which might make it a better option for adults or parents who just want to let their kids swim without worrying about where they have run off to. The pool costs $3 for members of the order or $7 for the general public from Memorial Day to Labor Day. For adults, there are also three bars by the pool area, as well as horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, a playground and a kiddie pool.

The best thing about the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium is that it is open year-round since it is an indoor public pool complex. This is a 7,000 square-foot water park that includes slides and a lazy river. There are memberships that include year-round passes as well as seasonal passes that start out at $60 for residents and $85 for non-residents. For those just looking at swimming a day here or there, it ranges from $3 to $5 per day. To add on to the swimming fun, the center also offers aquatic fitness classes, swimming lessons, Red Cross certification classes, birthday parties and more. The complex is open every day of the week in the summer and is closed on Tuesday and Thursday during the non-summer months.
