Best Outdoor Swimming Spots In DFW

Swimming and the outdoors go hand in hand in the summertime. Some prefer the crystal clear waters of the local swimming pools, and others, the naturally fresh waters of area lakes. Either way, the water is where it's at in DFW to cool off, splash with friends and keep the heat at bay.

Not far from the city lies Cleburne State Park, within its boundaries, you'll find the sparkly waves of Cedar Lake. During summertime, swimming safety is key and one of the main ways to make lakeside swimming safer is to swim where high speed boating and jet skis are not allowed. Boaters at Cedar Lake are not allowed to make waves, ensuring a peaceful and quiet swim for families after working up a sweat on the plentiful, scenic trails.
