Texas is known for their delicious Tex-Mex, and few things are better to wash it down with than a yummy margarita. Whether you like it frozen or on the rocks, flavored or traditional, with salt or without, you can find it here in DFW. Of course, not all margaritas are created equal. These are the top 5 places to find the best margaritas in DFW.

Tupinamba has been family owned and operated since 1947 which makes it one of the oldest Tex-Mex restaurants and bars in the DFW area. The flavors served here are authentic and make you feel like you're getting the real deal. While the food is great, the margaritas are even better. They have a list of the regulars like a traditional on the rocks or frozen, strawberry and even peach. However, if you're looking for the best, you should try the "tupy meltdown" which is made with Grand Marnier, Midori and Chambord which makes for an interesting and delicious margarita.

Desperados

Dallas, TX 75206

For more than 35 years, Desperados has been serving yummy Tex-Mex food and cold margaritas. The restaurant is family owned which adds to the welcoming atmosphere that you will experience when you come here. This isn't the first time that they have been said to have the best margarita in Dallas. In fact, they have received that award 5 times by D Magazine. They have a list of great margaritas and cocktails on the menu, but the winner is definitely the La Margarita which is made with fresh lime juice, Sauza Conmemorativo, Cointreau, and a "little something special". With so many awards, they can't reveal all of their ingredients.

Javier's
4912 Cole Ave.
Dallas, TX 75205
(214) 521-4211

While people do love their Tex-Mex, the food at Javier's is more reminiscent of true Mexico City dining. The decor is a little different than what you would normally expect as well. The low-lit dining room features mounted game, large wall murals, and hanging plants. The decor might not be traditional, but the margaritas are worth coming for. The lounge area has a whole list of margaritas to choose from, but the best options are the Serrano Spicy Margarita. If you like things more traditional, you should try Victor's Margarita which features Don Julio Resposado, Grand Marnier, Cointreau, Sweet & Sour and fresh lime juice.
