The original Velvet Taco on Henderson Ave. off Central Expressway has quickly made itself an iconic staple in taco greatness. The menu is simple, but this is not your everyday ground beef taco joint. You order by number and you everything is delicious. Want to try something exotic? Then go for the WTF (the weekly taco feature) which could be anything from Ahi tuna, teriyaki chicken taco or whatever John Franke the head chef has dreamed up. Dessert is a deep, dark red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting topped with a caramel sauce. The best thing is that Velvet Taco is open until 2:00 a.m. Sun.-Wed., Thurs. until 3:00 a.m. and Fri.-Sat. until 5:00 a.m. If you see a long line, don't get discouraged, it moves fairly quickly and it is worth the wait.

Open until 4:00 a.m. seven days a week, ZaLat is the go-to-place for late-night pizza in Dallas. Khanh Nguyen opened Vietnamese DaLat across the street five years ago and decided he wanted a place for people to go to after the bars close at 2:00 a.m., so he opened ZaLat. While they have only been open a little over a year, ZaLat has been that go to place. They offer 14-inch and 18-inch pizzas and roasts whole Roma tomatoes in-house to make their tomato sauce and use all-beef pepperoni. One can order a basic pepperoni pizza or go for something a little more eclectic like the Loaded Notato pizza. It tastes like a loaded baked potato, but there's no potato topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, jalapenos, chives, blue cheese ranch swirl and garnished with chives or the Pho Shizzle which tastes like a bowl of Vietnamese Pho in pizza form with chicken, red bell peppers, caramelized onions, topped with Hoisin and Sriracha swirls.
