Best Karaoke Bars In DFW

Karaoke is a fun pastime that is polarizing to many people. While some bemoan the idea of listening to drunk people singing popular songs in front of the entire bar, others see the fun that comes with letting inhibitions go and just cutting loose. In the DFW area, there are plenty of opportunities for karaoke singing all over the metro area, from country bars to gay bars, sports bars and more. Here is a look at the best places to get your groove on when wanting to sing karaoke in the DFW area.

Family Karaoke
11433 Goodnight Lane
Dallas, TX 75229
(469) 522-0365
www.familykaraokedfw.com

Family Karaoke was nominated in 2015 for the Best of Dallas award for Best Karaoke Night, and the reason is clear. Family Karaoke has 12 rooms under one roof for special parties and events, as well as a full bar and a kitchen for food. There are also a number of televisions around, including a huge 200-inch projection screen. Five to six people can get a room for as low as $23 an hour on weeknights and $29 on weekends, and these rooms have comfortable couch-styled seating and it is more than just another karaoke bar in Dallas.

San Francisco Rose
3024 Greenville Ave.
Dallas, TX 75206
(214) 826-2020
www.sanfranciscorose.net

The San Francisco Rose is a bar in Lower Greenville with karaoke on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Wednesday is normally packed with college-aged students ready to sing anything and everything. On the karaoke nights, singing starts at 9 p.m. and there are over 30 televisions throughout the bar. The San Francisco Rose is also WiFi capable and the patio is pet friendly. There is also a full food menu with daily specials on specific menu items.

Adairs
2624 Commerce St.
Dallas, TX 75226
(214) 939-9900
www.adairssaloon.com

Adairs Saloon is a country-themed bar in Deep Ellum with a large dance floor. The bar has live music on most nights but on Sunday nights, they offer something very special and unique. On Sundays, starting at 9 p.m. Adairs offers Carmen's Sing with the Band. Unlike normal karaoke nights at bars, Adairs has a live band playing the music as the patrons sing their favorite karaoke songs. Carmen moved her show to Adairs this year after 12 years at The Goat, but singers will have to understand that Carmen puts focus in her shows on the best singers, so some people may not get their chance on the stage.

Mable Peabody's
1215 E University Drive
Denton, TX 76209
(940) 566-9910
www.mablepeabodys.com

Located in Denton, Mable Peabody's Beauty Parlor and Chainsaw Repair is a gay bar that features live music, karaoke, open mic nights, burlesque and much more. The club originally opened in 1979 as a safe dive bar for the area's local LGBT community. An arsonist burned it down in 2007, but the club reopened in 2009, bigger and better than ever. There are plenty of drink specials, and everything is eased back and relaxed at the club. The one downfall for karaoke singers is that many claim that the Mable Peabody's karaoke hosts bumps specific people and it is hard for newcomers to get up to sing very often.

The Goat
7248 Gaston Ave
Dallas, TX 75214
(214) 327-8119
www.thegoatdallas.com

As mentioned earlier, Carmen ran karaoke at The Goat for 12 years before leaving because of complaints of bumping singers to make sure only the most talented got onto the stage. However, after Carmen left, The Goat didn't miss a beat and brought in DJ Josh Hammertimez, who also hosts Good Luck Karaoke at the Twilight Lounge on Thursday nights. His karaoke nights are Sundays, and it is no longer live band karaoke, but still a good time. There is also a pizza restaurant serving food until 2 a.m. A second karaoke night takes place on Wednesday nights with a different host.
