Best Fourth Of July Events In DFW

They say that everything is bigger and better in Texas, and that certainly holds true when it comes to commemorating Independence Day in DFW, where there are plenty options to choose from. Along with Addison's Kaboom Town on July 3, here are several more Fourth of July celebrations that are sure to bring out the patriotic spirit in everyone. You can sweat it out with the masses elsewhere or settle in the comfort of a seat or suite to enjoy the Fourth at Lone Star Park's family-friendly Lone Stars and Stripes celebration. Along with action packed horse racing, there will be live performances between races by Fort Worth cover band Incognito and a killer fireworks display choreographed to music. Add that to a family fun area filled with everything from bounce houses and climbing walls to pony rides and a petting zoo. And don't forget to register at the gate for a chance to drive off in a new Ford Mustang.

For the mother of all 4th of July celebrations, don your swim suits and bring along the sunscreen for a free action-packed day on the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion. Here, you can go tubing (free tubes and life jackets included), enjoy live music by The Land Sharks and Downtown Fever— plus hang out in a kids zone complete with zip lines, water slides and more. You'll also find plenty of nourishment—from street tacos and barbecue to corn dogs, burgers and brews. To top it off, the evening culminates with one of the largest firework displays in North Texas.

The free, eye-popping fireworks display isn't the only reason to head out to this 277-acre urban playground on the Fourth. Fair Park's annual red, white and blue blowout also boasts live music, patriotic performances, dancing water shows and even food trucks.  As well, you can enjoy gardens, butterflies and crafts at the Texas Discovery Gardens, or take in the discoveries at Fair Park's Perot Museum of Nature and Science for only $1. And if that's not enough excitement for you, then head over to the midway— where the rides and games are sure to keep everyone entertained.

Not only can you celebrate the fourth with the Dallas Wind Symphony's performance of patriotic music by composers like Gershwin and Sousa, but you can do it all within the air-conditioned comfort of the stunning Meyerson Center. There's even an indoor fireworks via confetti cannons, an 11-foot tall stilt-walking Uncle Sam, as well as classic American fare of hot dogs and ice cream.

The City of Frisco goes all out with a massive street party celebration of all things red, white and blue. The event includes non-stop live entertainment, a hotdog eating contest, food vendors and a patriotic exhibit showcasing the local fire and police departments. There will also be a children's area set up with everything from zip lines and Euro bungees to rock climbing walls and bounce houses. Across the street, soccer fans can catch the FC match against Philadelphia Union before the evening caps off with what's being billed as the largest fireworks finale in North Texas.
