Best Food Trucks In DFW

Food trucks are a phenomenon that got their start only a couple years ago, predominantly in LA, New York and San Francisco. They have since spread to cities all across the US and seem to pop up at more events every day. The food in each ranges from ordinary to gourmet and includes every style imaginable with Asian, Mexican, deli sandwiches, sushi, ice cream and cupcakes, just to name a few. Dallas was a little late to the food truck party because of parking regulations, but there are now a few spots that have daily designated areas for them, and there are frequent sanctioned parking lot events around the area. A couple of the favorite places for food truck spotting are the Dallas Arts District and Klyde Warren Park in Dallas and Clearfork Food Park in Fort Worth. Almost all trucks are available for catering private events as well. Here are some of the best food trucks in Dallas/Fort Worth to try.

Nammi
(972) 252-2052
www.nammitruck.com

Nammi calls its cuisine "Crusin' Vietnamese Fusion," the "crusin'" part for obvious reasons and the fusion part because of the variety of traditional and non-traditional ways the food can be served. Tasters can choose from banh mi, a Vietnamese sandwich, a Nammi rice bowl or Vietnamese tacos. Each person chooses their own filling and sauce to top off the flavors. With all this spice, a large cup of fresh basil mint lemonade alongside is a must. To track down Nammi on the road, follow the truck on Twitter @NammiTruck or visit the Upcoming Events page on their website.

Ruthie's Rolling Café
(972) 380-4233
www.ruthiesrollingcafe.com

There is a lot more than cheese in these grilled cheese sandwiches. Ruthie's makes your mouth water with its own description. "Just imagine two pieces of thickly cut fresh bread (drenched in butter or olive oil) grilled to a light golden brown, stuffed with a delicious artisan cheese of your choice." There are a couple favorite sandwiches, but most people choose to create their own with a variety of fillings and sauces to choose from, as well as several breads and cheeses. Ruthie's schedule is posted on their or Ruthie's page on Facebook and on Twitter @RuthiesRolling
