Best Deals For Veterans In DFW

Nov. 11 marks Veterans Day, a day of remembrance and appreciation for those who have served and currently serve in the United States military.  Whether you are a veteran or an active service member, there are many places within the Metroplex that would like to say "thank you."  Here is a list of a few.

National Veterans Day Run

The National Veterans Day Run was founded by runners of a Chicago marathon.  They were looking for a fun run in November but didn't find one, so they created their own in November 2011. Instead of one city, the Veterans Day Run is hosted simultaneously in 11 cities throughout the world.  This is the fourth year of this annual event. The Fort Worth event will take place at 3:11 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Trinity Park. The Dallas event will take place at Bachman Lake Park at 8:11 a.m., Sun., Nov. 15. The race will offer three distances including a 5K, 11K and a one-mile family and supporter walk/run. There are registration discounts for veterans and active-duty military personnel.  Whether you can, run, walk, roll or stroll, this is a great way to support the men and women of the armed forces.
