The Dallas Symphony Chorus

Established in 1977, the Dallas Symphony Chorus is starting is 36th season. The all-volunteer chorus performs classic choral pieces as well as secure arrangements for special occasions like weddings and is aired regularly on WRR Classic 101.1 FM radio station. The Chorus performs year round and can be heard on over two dozen commercial recordings.

Nothing could be more angelic than little voices raised in song, and the Children's Chorus of Greater Dallas provides heavenly sounds of 500 children through nine different ensembles. Founded in 1996 by eight musicians, the Children's Chorus gleans its talent from 43 different communities within a 33-mile radius of downtown Dallas. While the chorus performs at different venues throughout the city, its main performance hall is the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.

Founded in 1980, the Turtle Creek Chorale has entertained North Texas audiences with 200 members. The rich soul-stirring tenor, baritone and bass voices that perform classic songs as well as twists to old favorites and new compositions is what brings standing ovations and sell-out crowds to the Turtle Creek Chorale's performances.

Founded in 1971, the 12 members that made up the Dallas Metropolitan Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society created the Vocal Majority, which has grown to over 150 men who volunteer their time to weekly rehearsals to make performances special for their audiences. The group's diverse repertoire spans from time-honored barbershop, jazz, pops, patriotic and Broadway to sacred and holiday music. The Vocal Majority Chorus has released 25 albums/CDs. The holiday season isn't complete without hearing a performance from the Vocal Majority.

The Plano Civic Chorus has three locations to call home: St. Andrew United Methodist Church at 5801 W. Plano Parkway in Plano; Temple Emanu-El at 8500 Hillcrest Road, Dallas; and First Presbyterian Church at 271 N. Walton Street in Richardson. Promoting choral arts in North Texas is the focus of the Plano Civic Chorus, which was started in 1972. In its 40-plus years, it has performed Verdi's "Requiem," Orff's "Carmina Burana," along with countless other choral classics. The chorus has also performed at New York's Carnegie Hall and in San Antonio and Little Rock Arkansas.
