Best Apple Pie In DFW
Apple pie is not just a pie. It is a symbol of America and a symbol of home. The taste of a good apple pie is about more than just good presentation and flavor. For a pie to make it on a "best" list, it should transport you to a simpler time with only the smell. With one taste, a warm apple pie makes you feel like you are a child, sitting in your grandmother's kitchen as she pulls her fresh, homemade dessert out of the oven. That is a lot to ask of one piece of pie, but here are a few to get you started.

The original location in West Dallas opened in 1958, but has since expanded to four other locations in the Metroplex. This spot is still a casual place to sit and relax with a slice of pie. The apple crumb pie is, of course, one of the favorites. It has even been raved about by Paula Deen and Southern Living Magazine.
Emporium Pies

Dallas, TX 75208
(469) 206-6126
www.emporiumpies.com
Emporium Pies is a pie shop with a bit of wit, located in the Bishop Arts district. It carries flavors like ebony and ivory -- a buttermilk cheese pie with a chocolate hazelnut spread. The apple pie is called "Lord of the Pies" and is a deep-dish apple pie with cinnamon streusel. These might not sound like your grandmother's pies, but that doesn't mean they lack anything in flavor. They change seasonally, so you can keep coming back for more.
