Bengals' Newman Set For Reunion With Cowboys

IRVING (AP) - The enduring image of cornerback Terence Newman's nine seasons as a starter in Dallas was getting hurdled by a fullback in a season-ending loss to the New York Giants that kept the Cowboys out of the playoffs.

His release didn't come until two months after the Cowboys finished one of the worst seasons of pass defense in franchise history.

Newman, who was dumped earlier this year to avoid an $8 million salary cap hit, says he "figured it was coming.''

Now Newman gets a chance to play the team that drafted him sixth overall in 2003 when Dallas visits Cincinnati on Sunday. He's having a good year with the Bengals after rough last couple of seasons with the Cowboys.
