Bears QB Cutler Ruled Out For Cowboys Game
CHICAGO (CBSDFW.COM) -- The Chicago Bears have ruled out quarterback Jay Cutler for Monday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Bears coach Marc Trestman made the announcement on Thursday.
Quarterback Josh McCown, who has started the past three games, will start in his place. Cutler has not appeared in a game since injuring his ankle in a 21-19 loss to Detroit in week 10.
In his absence, McCown has led the Bears to a 1-2 record, including a 23-20 overtime loss to Minnesota last week.
On the season, the 11-year veteran has completed 65.2 percent of his passes, with 9 touchdowns and one interception.
On Monday, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said the two quarterbacks play a 'similar style'.
"McCown has done a nice job of coming in and really allowing them to play the way they want to play," said Garrett. "I don't see a huge difference between McCown and Cutler."
Linebacker Lance Briggs, who hasn't played since week 7, was also ruled out with a shoulder injury.
