Baylor No. 3 NCAA Seed, Facing South Dakota State
WACO (AP) - Baylor is going to the NCAA tournament as a No. 3 seed in the South Region.
The Bears (27-7) will play Thursday against Summit League champion South Dakota State (27-7) in Albuquerque, N.M.
It is Baylor's seventh NCAA tournament appearance, the third under coach Scott Drew. The Bears were also a No. 3 seed in 2010, when they advanced to an NCAA regional final before losing to eventual national champion Duke.
The Jackrabbits are led by junior guard Nate Wolters. He is averaging 21.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game.
All seven of the Bears' losses this season are to four Big 12 teams that are also in the NCAA tournament. They lost three times to Big 12 tournament champion Missouri, and twice to regular season champ Kansas.
