Officials: Baylor Hospital Officer Fired At Suspect Who Backed Into Police With Vehicle In Dallas

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - An officer at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Dallas fired his weapon toward a suspect Friday morning after he backed his vehicle into officers, police say.

Dallas police say hospital officers were responding to a call about a person slumped over in a vehicle in the parking lot. Witnesses told police that when officers approached the vehicle, the person reversed quickly and hit the officers.

According to police, an officer then fired his weapon at the vehicle as it drove away from the scene. The hospital officers were not injured during the incident.

Dallas police responded to assist the hospital officers at around 7:30 a.m. and later found the suspect vehicle at a nearby apartment complex.

The suspect was found and arrested thanks to descriptions provided by witnesses. Police say he was not injured.

Police say the vehicle the suspect was in was reported stolen out of Plano in April.
