Battle Lines Are Drawn In One McKinney Neighborhood

MCKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) – Battle lines are forming in a McKinney front yard. Donald Trump campaign signs have decorated the home for months, that has also drawn vandalism.
No one can miss the Trump signs on the front lawn, but the homeowner says they better pay attention to the no trespassing sign, or the two teens police arrested this week won't be the only ones in trouble.
We can't even show you everything the vandals painted on Kimberly Loyd's garage, but you probably get the idea.
"They wrote, "Black Lives Matter B____," Loyd said showing the garage where she cleaned off the graffiti.
This came after she caught a man on camera painting a swastika on one of her Donald Trump signs. More recently someone shot BBs through her living room window, but Loyd says she's not giving in, and the signs will stay where they are.
"This is tyranny. When someone comes into your property and destroys things because of a political opinion, we have issues that are far deeper than Clinton and Trump," Loyd said.
Loyd isn't just defying the vandals, she's helping police catch them. The homeowner has mounted surveillance cameras all over the property and recently caught one teen breaking a lawn statue and another destroying one of her campaign signs. Now she wants to see the others brought to justice too.
"I want to know who painted the swastika right here. I want to know who painted, 'Black Lives Matter B____' on my garage. I want a piece of them," Loyd said.
Neighbors like Beth Putnam worry about the spike in criminal activity, but she says she supports Loyd's response.
"Oh, she's brave. She knows what she believes. She's not going to stand for it. And that's what America's about," Putnam said.
"Come Hell or high water, I'm gonna stand for what's right, and I will fight against tyranny, and they're not going to break me," Loyd said.
Because of their age police would not release the identities of the two teens arrested. They're charged with criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.
