Bank Robbery and Hostage Situation
The hostage situation at Vintage Bank in Waxahachie has ended. Live coverage on 1080 KRLD of a bank robbery that became a hostage situation around 7 a.m. this morning at Vintage Bank off Highway 77 in Waxahachie.
From the Morning News, by 9 a.m. everyone inside the bank was safe, and the standoff had ended.
It is not known how many people were in the bank, if the robber was armed, or how the standoff ended.
The Waxahachie School District locked down all of their schools, including Northside Elementary School which is closest to Vintage Bank.
KRLD's Scott Braddock and Mitch Carr spoke with Nicole Mansell from the Waxahachie ISD about locking down their school campuses. Mansell said that to be on the safe side, the school district decided to lock down all schools in Waxahachie until further notice. School is still going on inside, and parents may pick up their children at any point if they would like.
