Bank Robber Known As "Mesh Mask Bandit" Strikes Again
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – The man the FBI tabbed as the "Mesh Mask Bandit" has robbed another bank, this time in Arlington.
Police say the masked man walked into a Capital One bank, located in the 200 block of N. Mesquite Street, pointing a gun at bank employees and demanding money. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and drove away from the bank in an early to mid-2000 navy blue Dodge Caravan, with a paper license plate.
Police say a dye pack included with the cash may have exploded as the robber got into the van and red dye may have stained his body and driver's side of the van.
The suspect is described as between 35-40 years old, 5'8"-5'10" tall, with an average to muscular build. He wears a mask covering his face, but is believed to have a thick mustache or goatee. In Monday's robbery, he wore dark pants, a dark hooded jacket, and baseball cap.
Investigators say the 'Mesh Masked Bandit" started sticking up North Texas banks in December of last year and is responsible for more than a dozen robberies from Dallas to Carrollton.
